Not many people know this but my hubby John and I survived the Tsunami in Thailand in 2004. We were actually sunbathing on the beach when the 'wave' was coming in. We both thought it was just larger than normal and were cracking jokes about 'wish we had our surf boards here...'. Anyway, you know what happened. “…We are 175km by dirt to our nearest grocery store in Charleville. So the course was just what I needed as I was able to do the majority from home and meet some wonderful friends at the weekends. After the first weekend I purchased our first home in Dalby as this is where I grew up it has gone up approx 50k since. In November of 2005 (12 months later and heavily pregnant) I purchased 4 duplexes in Emerald which I have strata titled and commenced selling with an average profit of 50k per unit. Mums in Wildly Wealthy Women
Becoming a mother can be be a huge change in your life and as wonderful as the experience may be, the change can place a strain on the household's finances and on the member's within that household. Every year, we have many mothers join our program - from those who are expecting, to those with newborns, toddlers, school aged kids, teenagers and adult 'children'. It is totally possible to juggle being a mother with taking part in the program and in fact for some women, the mentoring program has been just what they needed. In some cases it has given them purpose as they adjust from being a career woman to a mother-at-home. The program has helped them contribute to the household income (in a significant way in some cases), and helped them to pass on valuable life skills to their kids. Below are just a few comments from mothers who have taken part in our program.
"When I started Wildly Wealthy Women™ I was eight months pregnant, I had finished my job and our household was surviving on one wage... then my husband was made redundant. We had a massive mortgage, a business loan, a car lease, a personal loan and a credit card limit which was at least three-quarters used. Now we have an eight-month-old, are still on one wage, but from all we've learnt, we bought a car and got rid of the leased one (making $21,800 on exit) and refinanced. Young Wildly Wealthy Women
They say age is just a number, and that's certainly the case for the growing number of young women taking part in our learnings and getting not only their first foot on the property ladder, but ready to take their second. The only thing stopping some of them is turning 18 so that they can sign the dotted line on the contract for their first property!
18-year-old Kelly of Queensland(pictured left at the Hamilton Island Wicked Weekend in 2004) was only 17 when she began our Mentoring Program in February of 2004. Kelly (far right) was sponsored by her step-mother Rosanne (far left) to do the program (Roseanne also did the program) and was so inspired and committed to the teachings that by September when she turned 18, she had accumulated substantial funds to buy her first home and that’s exactly what she went out and did. Kelly says she certainly does not intend to stop at the one property and hopes to buy another within the next few months. She is extremely excited and positive about her future and its prospects.
24-year-old Rebecca of Blackwater, Queensland(pictured right with her sister Kristine who also did the 2005 program) began our Mentoring Program in February 2005 after her Mum Judi did the program in 2004. “I didn't know anything at all about money or property when I started, just that my mum did it and said “You've gotta do it.” But I LOVE IT! I have got so much out of it and I guess the biggest thing is that I’ve got a lot of choices. Before, I didn’t think I had any choices because I was young – I thought money was there to spend and live week by week – I had never looked at the big picture.” Five months after beginning the program, Rebecca, who is the mother of a four year old and a one year old and her partner are now the proud owner of their own home. “We’re planning to pretty it up – all the hard work is done – the bathroom and the kitchen were done by the last owners, so it just needs a cosmetic make over. We think after we’ve done it we’ll sell it and what profit we can get out we’ll use to buy the next one, perhaps in Rockhampton as there are a lot of lovely older houses which would be good to renovate.” Rebecca has also been sharing her knowledge with women in her local community. “I work for a finance company and we've got a group of women who meet fortnightly. My boss gets a guest speaker to come in and go through some stuff mainly regarding property investment and I organise all the ladies and try and get new members in. I had a younger group who were around 20 and I was going through stuff with them trying to get them market ready.”
Property Progress
Part of what we teach within our twelve month program is property investment. We have had women do everything from buy their first home to buy multiple properties which generate them thousands of dollars a year in passive income. Here are just a few success stories relating to property progress to give you an idea of the diversity of the women, and the success they have achieved.
